I have a real "head-scratcher" on my hands. I have a Swedish Mauser that I picked up and it sports a one piece Simmons scope mount. What has me in a dilemma is the way the rings mount to the base. The base has two protruding posts that fit into corresponding holes in the base of the rings. There is a bit of lateral adjustment supplied by hex head grub screws that fit into the ring supporting posts from either side. I've never seen this type of mounting system before and it didn't show up on Simmons web site. The rings are a standard 2 pc. secured by slot head screws. At some point, one of the screws was lost and the replacement is shorter than the other 3 so getting the correct tension on the scope is somewhat problematic. Basically, all I need is the one screw that matches the other 3. Any thoughts? I'll take some pics which may help clarify things.
