Simon sleeve

So i learned that the bulged portion of a C8 barrel is actually something called a simon sleeve. Is there any out there for sale or is that just a pipedream?

If I recall correctly there are 3 different types of sleeves. The sleeve on the C8A3 is to mount the M203 and bayonet.

This. Unless you have the actual 15.7" barrels the sleeves were designed for it will be for nothing.

I think BCM sells a clone of the C8 bbl. with the sleeve. However, the EE seems to regularly sport CC SA15.7 uppers and complete rifles for sale on a reasonably regular basis. Why settle for an imitation?

Someone was selling just the sleeve in the EE recently. Why you'd buy a 15.7 and part it out is beyond me. The thing will be worthless if he ever wants to sell.

The standard sleeve is to allow for the mounting of a M203, there are other styles for mounting Opsinc suppressors and for use with the simon round.

The simon round will not fit over the standard sleeve.
