simple scope question

I just bought my first rifle scope, the top dial says up and shows and arrow. Does that refer to the point of impact or the point of aim

point of impact, if your P.O.I is below your P.O.A dial your scope "up" Burris offers rings with offset shims to get your scoped close to zeroed while leaving as much adjustment in your scope as possible

Yup. Dial the scope UP and the bullet hits more UP.

Remember.... if you look through your scope and try to adjust as you are looking through it, Put the dot where you AIMED and then dial to where it HIT

It's actually both, in a perfect world. The 'dial' moves the reticle.
