Hello all,
I have a 1961 Simson in nice shape that I recently got. When cleaning it up I noticed it had the Q with the 1 in it on the action. I thought it was a better than average piece just based on walnut ( vs fruit wood) stock and beautiful engraving, case hardened etc. Does anyone know how much value the "Q1" designation actually adds, if any? Looking forward to trying the old girl out at the trap field when the weather improves.

Thanks and happy new year.

And most people aren't particularly interested in a "Best Quality" East German gun. No one gives a damn that you have a completely mint Trabant 601. At least, no one with any sense. Very much the same with the East German Merkel/Sauer/Simson guns that all boiled out of that factory complex behind the iron curtain.

A bit brutal but not far from the truth. I don't like post war East German guns because they are the product of commie thieves who stole the businesses from the Simpson, Sauer and other families. F'ck 'em!
