I’m trying to source these expander mandrels. I’ve ordered the die and the .308 mandrel from XReload however they are out of stock of the .223 and 6.5 Creedmoor mandrels.

Anyone know of another Canadian source that I could try?

Can you order these from Sinclair / Brownells? I sent an email inquiry weeks ago but got nothing back. The website seems to suggest that reloading components are covered by ITAR.

Anyone know if I can just order these directly from the USA? If so, I’d get a couple of Redding dies while I’m at it.

Try Hirsh Precision on here. I’ve ordered many similar parts with no issues from Brownells, they are not considered components (primers, brass ,bullets) are a no.

I would order Brownells direct if I was you and cut the chase. Take a couple week..
X Reload are great but we are a bunch buying there and stuff fly off the shelf rapidly. Unfortunatly, ot always take some time to rebuild inventory.

Phone them up and/or e-mail them with pertinent info - order number, your name, etc, and ask kindly if they would alter the order's shipping selection to USPS. This isn't the first time this has happened and it won't be the last. They are usually pretty easygoing about it if you don't make a habit out of making changes.

So what’s gone so wrong with UPS that you suggest making the change?

High brokerage charges on top of the usual when using UPS. I actually told them to send a package back it was so ridiculous. Haven't used UPS since.
USPS has zero brokerage fees and they just hand it over to Canada Post at the border.

Brownells will generally use UPS inovations for Canadian orders and that only uses UPS to the border then is handed off . It then gets to you by canada post. If that is the way your order gets sent the only charge you might get is a CBSA fee around 10.00 and the taxes no brokerage fee.

I just ordered the Tin versions of the 6.5 Creedmoor from Brownells. Its 1.5 weeks, mine will be here next Thursday. Went with UPS I believe. I also believe there's no need for export paperwork. I refuse USPS only because Canada post can't get their #### together during this pandemic.

As for UPS I haven't paid a single brokerage fee in years. they are absurdly high. 60$ on top of a 50$ item high. Just self clear the package at your nearest CBSA branch and only pay the taxes.
