What’s the consensus on these guns ? I am being offered on in trade and don’t know much about them. It’s in nice shape Couple safe kisses and an adjustable but plate.

These were a very well made basic single barrelled trap gun, they are quite scarce today but because of a lack of spare parts ( trap guns get shot thousands of rounds per year, year after year) and a low rib configuration their poularity is low despite the Beretta name. Made in 30", 32" and 34" barrels, they weigh about 9 pounds and are a very deliberate gun wit great natural follow through. Beretta replaced it after a few years of poor sales with a single barrel version of the 682 which was a more modern, more versatile gun and could be had as a combo. The last Mark II I saw advertised for sale about 4-5 years ago at Gagnon took nearly two years to sell.

Ummmm ok where was it priced at? I see quite a few guys looking for them on US sites. Seem to have a good reputation. I think I will take it. Casual trap is fun!

Can't remember the price of that particular one but I have seen them from $600 to $900 asking price. I've had a couple, in original configuration they fit me well and I shoot them well in the longer barrel lengths. The action is a simplified derivative of the older S5- and BL series over/under, they are built like a tank but there are no parts in common with the current 68- series guns and these guns are all over 40 years old.

Made 1972-1976. Obsolete, with few parts available.
An excellent gun, durable and quality manufacture, but as stated by Ashcroft - it was not a popular model.

I will make the same comment that I do about old double guns - There are no replacement parts for obsolete double guns except for a few of the most common models, most of those American hardware store guns.
That doesn't stop many of us shooting them with great satisfaction.
If it is in good condition, not worn out from use or neglect, and priced right - it could be a very satisfying gun for years.
If you encounter a big problem down the road, you might need a gunsmith capable of making a part. The cost of repair could then exceed the value of the gun. Shotgun smiths making parts are not that common, depending on where you are located in Canada.
