How do I install a single point sling mount on an AR15? Does the buffer tube have to come off? Are there special tools that you need to do it?

From the same site that you got the image of the sling loop you can get this tool.
You will need to remove the buffer tube. Be very careful about the buffer spring detent and spring, and the rear takedown pin detent and spring. They are both under tension and may seek freedeom from the confines of your rifle by launching themselves across the room into some dark crevice.
