My (Dlask) AR did not come with a front sling mount :(

I am looking for AR sling mounting options...

A button mount looks like it will cost $$$ (need to buy a tap + front swivel mount -- worried about making a mess with the tap as well, because I have not done this before)...

I found a U.S. retailer that sells the Rock River Arms Side Swivel Mount but they were not willing to retail this to Canada:

The front end of my rifle looks like this:

Should I go with a Single Point Sling? If so, where can I buy one?

What other sling mounting options are there when you are missing a front sling mount?

Just thought I should mention that your front sight is mounted backwards...

A single point sling is an excellent idea. You can get a plate for either HK hook or standard sling loops here on the forum, or talk to Farmboy over at One Shot Tactical and get the plate and sling all at the same time.

Either way, you won't be dissappointed.

The sling mount you show will not fit your rifle. It mounts in the area surrounding the barrel in the centre of a standard front sight assembly. It will not fit a picatinny gas block like the one on your rifle.

Ah, man, thank you for your help. It is really discouraging to purchase a part that won't work.

As for the front iron sight... it may be backwards but it works all the same and I think it looks odd the other way around (cosmetically speaking).

you can get a front site for your gas block that has a swivel but why not put a piece of para cord or a couple zap straps through the site and attach that to your sling...then all you need is the mark brown cqb rail and presto, instant retro cool.

of course individuality is cool too but i vote you turn your front site around.

Now that is a Canadian idea! I used those darn things to attach my bike lock holder to the frame of my bike. They are very durable and will work, but I do not shoot well enough to pull off the coolness factor. You need to shoot all V-Bulls to look cool with a sling that is attached to your black rifle with zap straps.

Man, you just made my day :D

You will be mocked and made sport of when you show up for an (ironsight) match with that sight bassackwards. Then again, you may distract the other shooters on the line just enough to whip them. :D
There is a front sling mount that clamps to your front sight post...It's designed for a "standard" front sight post, but it shouldn't take too much to make it fit on your rifle.

If you have a free float tube forestock, you do not want to put a sling swivel on the barrel.

If a free float, find a mount that goes on the front of the forestock.

Actually, I do not use the iron sight. It is a back up to the Trijicon that you cannot see in the photo.

In the summer, I was placed beside two target rifle shooters... all of a sudden I was shooting my AR much better (truth be known, I believe it was actually due to being closer to the tree line and therefore having less wind impacting my bullet).

It looks like I should go with the zap straps for less than $1.50 (if I can scrung up a sling)... or $150.00 for a complete single point sling system (plate, interface, & sling).
