Does anybody know of any single shot (bolt action, lever action, break action) rifles chambered in 9mm (9x19)? A friend of mine is looking for a 9mm for a short range plinker but he is more interested in a single shot as opposed to a semi. I am not aware of any in Canada.

To my knowledge there are very few if any in production manual arms in 9mm. Special interest arms tried it recently and it absolutely flopped.

There are people in the states converting Rock Island Armory 22TCM bolt actions to 9mm, the 22TCM rifles were imported at one point and are still made.

Edit: looks like the Special interest arms were just conversion kits for the RIA 22TCM

You can get the same result by putting a single round in a magazine for any of the current rifles.

If not limited to 9mm, there are rolling blocks, sharps, ect. actions in 357

Going from .22 TCM to 9mm seems like a step backwards for a small game and plinking rifle. If you could swap barrels easily then that would be a very, very interesting setup.

What about a single barrel break action shotgun with chamber inserts, that would open the possibilities for the use of other calibers as well .
There is the Bergara BA13 , unsure who carries Bergara in Canada
Or the Chiappa M1-9 Carbine , from what Ive heard about them , they're pretty much a single shot .lol

If it's a gas operated semi, he could plug the hole leading to the gas piston. I did that with a ratty Chinese SKS. Now it's a straight pull bolt action 7.62x39.

Because I felt like doing it, that's why. :p

H&R or NEF made a single shot break open 9mm rifle. They are no longer in business but I have seen a few on the EE section here for sale over the years. Also have a 9mm insert for a 12 gauge and it's very useful and accurate not to mention fun to shoot.

What about converting a 9mm rimfire “snake gun “ to centerfire. These rifles, mostly single shot are cheap, and can be bought brand new, for cheap.

Not sure if they could handle the pressure. I was actually thinking about could you mod a 9mm flobert into 9x19..

I currently have a 9mm Lee Enfield. Its a glorified single shot, couldn't get the mag angle right for better feeding, so it chews brass up. Some days it feeds, someday it slams them sideways.
