single shot question

My cousin asked me if it was possible to fire his single shot shotgun minus the ejector, I said possible yes, safe maybe. Question is would it be? The ejector is busted and his gunsmiths dad died, he was just wondering.

I really don't see any reason why it wouldn't be safe as long as the gun locks up tightly. I'm assuming your talking about the automatic ejector on a cooey model 840? The only thing you would have to do is remove the empty shell manually after firing.
