Single shot rifles in classic calibres

just picked the H&H up this spring, the records are with it, made in 1896 and sold later in 1912. it has Medford rifling and they call the for end a military style and is unique to me anyway the only one i have seen like it. The Gibbs would be made early 1900's no date for sure on it. Both guns are in very good condition

The fore end reminds me of oberndorf Mauser “Afrika” model 3/4 length stocks. Looks cool

Here are some pictures of the Gibbs Farquharson with it big brother, this one is earlier and cased. it is in 500 BPE and is in very good condition

And another 22-250, Ruger #1 with heavy barrel.

Disclaimer; I did not mistreat this rifle. But it is a single shot and 220 Swift is a classic calibre. I can understand about the humidity getting to it... I live in the Semi-arid desert and a summer so wet that guns will rust is pretty much unheard of...that would be a surprise.
But the sawing off of 2" on the back stock? Man, they used a wood saw...like the 'Wooba wooba' ones we used for 2 x 4's and fenceposts back in the day. Travesty.
I don't really love it as I should ( already have 2 22-250's; a 788 and a Zavasta premium...they are just easy to use as well as cheap), but managed to source a cut-off from a Ruger #1 close to a nice fit. Should try to fit the leather spacers better... but life gets in the way.
But it is what it is. These are such nice rifles that the lines hide the flaws...like a curvy woman with acne. Cleavage sorta draws you in and you don't notice the pimples.
