Single Six Stainless 5.5" owners..help please

Seems quite hard to get a 4 5/8" single six. Thinking of getting a 5.5" stainless model and having it shortened.

What I'm wondering is if there are warnings/info engraved on the barrel, and if so does the engraving extend past the ejector rod housing? I think it would look poor if I had it shortened and it cut any text off in the middle.

If anyone could take a peek and let me know it would be very appreciated. The newer the production model the better, as I'd be buying a new one. Thanks

Cut it down and have ALL the warnings etc. polished off.

That's a possibility. Unfortunately my budget isn't as limitless as the possibilities. If I knew the engravings were going to be an issue beforehand it would help me calculate the total cost of the modifications, and see if this is a feasible route to take.

Polishing the barrel warnings off on a stainless Ruger is not that hard to do by hand. I have done it twice with good results. That way it wont cost you anything except some elbow grease.

Hmm, I guess I just assumed that they would be in there deep. What did you use exactly? Sandpaper, or just a buffing wheel and compound?

Still curious to know where they start and stop though.

The barrel warnings on my 5.5" single six are on the bottom and quite unobtrusive.
