Does anyone have any recommendations for IPSC 1911 mag pouches? I was looking at the Double Alpha Academy Single Stack Racer pouches. I’m hesitant because they say that some 9mm mags don’t fit. I’m going to be running Wilson Combat ETM mags in 9mm.
I would rather not have to d*ck around with putting single stack inserts into regular pouches.

The CR Speed with single-stack inserts work well. There's no "d*cking around" specific to single-stack as every mag type has an insert that gets screwed into the pouches. Even if you're running STI 2011 mags you need an insert for them. Once it's screwed in and the pouch is screwed onto your belt, you never have to touch it again.

If a one-time insert installation is too much for you.... Bladetech paddle pouches?

There is a life hack for CR Speed mag pouches. If you don't want to buy single-stack spacers - take CZ or Glock spacers and put then at 90 with bracket pointing up. It makes real good 1911 mag pouch.

PS: all 1911 mags are the same thickness regardless of the caliber (9mm, 40 or 45)

I prefer the single-stack spacers for the CR Speed because it gives you a nice bevel at the opening so you can "miss" the opening by a bit more and they'll still go in; helps when trying to stuff the mags quickly on a pickup stage.
With the CZ spacer vertical, there's a more abrupt ledge at the opening and the mags feed lips can catch it if you miss by too much.

So you don't NEED the single-stack spacers but I find them a nice addition for a few bucks more per pouch. Compared to the cost of the rest of the rig it's a pittance.

I did forget to mention what euxx said; all 1911 mags are the same width. My pouches hold 9mm, .40m and .45 1911 mags no problem.

There's magnet and there's practice. I've shot many L3s and even won some without single stack spacers. I have them, they are nice but not essential.

I use Double Alpha Academy Single Stack Racer pouches for my 45. They work great.
I just got back from the Edmonton IPSC match and did see a few other guys using them for there 9mm 1911's.

I'm a big fan of the Ghost triple pouches with the magnet you get 3 pouches on one belt attachment and can choose one or two magnets, been using them for three years with no issues

I use DAA Canada Deluxe Manetic Pouch for all of my division need.
Works for my open, standard, classic, production and PO. One set fits all!
And I use it as bullet out position.

Check it out at Fast Toys Shooting Sports
