Sino-soviet?

HI. I just bought a new SKS that is all matching including the stock. The butt sling swivel is located on the left side of the butt.The serial number begins with a letter ( F04763).Arsenal is 0406.
Is it a sino-soviet? How to determine the year of fabrication?

thanks craig, from now on , im gonna be watching out for that treasure at gun show and gun store.

i didnt find a treasure last year but im very happy with the chinese factory 26 i bot for my son, it was a 1965 , i later bot a factory 26 1967 from the same dealer, and when i compared the two, it was like night and day so i assume factory 26 switched their quality either at 1966 or 1967 , during the vietnam war.

altho both had matching numbers and threaded barrel, the finishing in the 1965 was far better, it had a "n" on the rear sight , milled trigger housing, extra mill on the carrier.

the only thing that did not match was the stock, which i presumed they switched the blade stock/bayo for the spike stock/bayo.

Chinese rifles can also have those Russian symbols on the rear sights.

I ve done alot of research on then in the past few weeks and hope to find what am looking for with out paying to much

I have 2 SKS's , one is a 040 serial # I bought from Lever a couple of years ago. I guess its one of the good one 'cause the barrel is still on

My 2nd (Bought in the E&E forums here) is a factory 26 dated 1968. Seems all original except for the stock, has a blade bayo.

I've got a Sino-Soviet SKS myself, didn't realize what it was until after I bought it. Serial number starts with E, which I believe is 1956 production. Matching numbers except for the bolt. Its a good shooter and a neat conversation piece.
