SIR: Dropping Taurus & Adding Kimber, Colt, etc..to their product line?

A buddy mentioned to me the other day that he'd been in contact with SIR Mailorder and was informed that they're giving up their line of Taurus handguns and will now be carrying Kimbers, SA, & Colt!:eek: Anybody else here this?
 
yeah they stoped selling Taurus months ago... too bad 'cause they had the best prices

I have their '07 catalouge and they only have (some) Kimber handguns and rifles. Haven't heard anything about SA or Colt.
 
I played with the Kimber 1911's in the store a couple months ago. Really nice. I want one but don't have the $$$ at the moment. Anyone wanna buy Toxic a Xmas present?:D
 
Dosen't Colt only sell to the goverment now? No private, ie to the general public, sales?

This is one of many rumours that have gone around about poor Colt for years now, generated by the anti-Colt community (mostly a lot of US gunshops that don't carry Colt and want to convince customers to buy something else) with no basis in fact. When customers ask to see a Colt, and they don't carry them, they have been spinning all kinds of rumours to convince the customer not to look for Colt and to buy the brands they do carry in order not to lose the sale.

Admittedly, it doesn't help that Colt recently divided their website into two, and that the "main" site (http://www.colt.com/) doesn't clearly represent their commercial line (http://www.coltsmfg.com/).

Don't be fooled.
 
We've been stocking NEW Colt pistols for a couple of years now. :) It's not magic. However, some models are very difficult to get ahold of as demand in the USA is still pretty strong.

We keep meeting with Taurus to complain about their lack of customer support but never get anywhere except... "go talk to Nicholls..." sure makes me want to buy Taurus. :rolleyes:
