So got a firsthand look at one of these today. The one I checked out was an AC43, all matching original with an aftermarket mag. For some reason it had HP (heerspistol) grips that looked really well worn. It had been reblued, but looked ok. Sadly, the deal breaker for me (other than the $750 price tag:eek: ) was the ENORMOUS CENTURY BILLBOARD on the right side of the slide. What a waste of an otherwise nice gun:mad:

On the plus side, they've got BEAUTIFUL mosins right now, no import marks, and cheap too!

OK, let me get this straight. SIR wants $750 for a gun that has:

-Mismatched grips
-aftermarket mag (promag or some other crap?)
-Reblued/refinished
-HUGE dot matrix import mark that isn't required by law here
-mismatched (grips)

Uh, yeah. At a local shop I wouldn't pay more than $200 for such a gun as an obsolete 9mm shooter. Collector value = ZERO.

Hello,

I was there with Ollie at the time and there is more to the story.

At first the "oh" so great SIR service was at hand. After waiting 10 mins and finally getting some attention when there was practically no one in the store, the guy tried to tell us that it was a vet bring back and that it was this rare used WW2 gun.

We told him what it was and he checked on the comupter and apparently they only have 7 RC P38's left so some people have forked out the money.

In my opinion, don't waste your time or money. Its all crap.

They did say that they are getting another 50 RC K98's in and are selling them at a higher price (350-400).

my thoughts exactly!

P.38 arent worth that much... i doubt they'll sell a single one.

No idea what SIR's Mosin price is and I wouldn't care unless I could go hand pick it. Frankly I have enough "common" M44,M38,M91/30's and I wouldn't buy another unless I knew for certain it was NOT another 1943 Izhevsk or whatever.

I personally think the extra $10 or whatever is well worth it to have a board sponsor like P&S or TradEX hand select one for you ;)
