Wondering if there's anybody in canada that makes Lee type push true sizing dies?
I know of a fella in the states but would like to know if there is somebody north of the border that makes them.

It is a bit of a weird and limited selection that Lee has as regular items.

Personally I would consider getting the closest size smaller and polishing it out but it might be difficult to keep round if you are opening it more than a few thousandths.

I got about half a dozen made by this guy in California and they are pretty decent, if i can't find anybody here in Canada i'm gonna have to give him a call.

I've opened up plenty of them. Started with .285 dies and made up,299,301,303,305,307,310 sizer's. Also did some for my 45-70 boolit's

I'd start with 358 and go from there

I had a machine shop make up some push through dies for me several years ago. Wasn't too impressed by the finish of the final product. Rough on the outside I can live with, but when the inside was just drilled straight through, and no polishing done whatsoever, it was disappointing, especially when there was no meat left to work with. Price was about $40 each die. I wanted them in the .300 to .305 range, and the next time I think I will go with the LEE route, or find an actual shop that deals with firearms and knows what needs to be done. A general machine shop isn't interested in doing fiddley work.

I think that blaser.306 may make them. IIRC, he makes them for the Star machine as well.
Lathesmith in the US makes a nice die, but they are quite dear by the time you get them here.
A standard one could be opened up a few thou without special equipment.

It's a fairly simply thing to make from 7/8-14 all-thread and a lathe. I know a couple guys who make custom sizes locally; just guys with a lathe in the garage or basement, not a business. I had a .433" sizer made for oversized .44 mag cast as well as a .266" one for 6.5mm. I think he charged me $20 each. If you found a local machinist who has their own tools it can be really helpful for a lot of small parts.

I tried to open a Lee .430" a little. Took an hour of rolling it with a dowel and emery paper to open it to .431" and it ended up .0005" oblong and not round (.4310" in one dimension, .4315" perpendicular.

Just ordered from NOE a .377" a .378" and a .379" sizing dies, a 329 gr mold for my .375 H&H and a 284 gr mold for my new to me 38/55 1885 Winchester.
Santa was great this year.

Congratulations on the 1885. I'm jealous!

I'm interested in the NOE sizing system but haven't really looked into exactly how it works and what you need besides the bushings and starter set. No doubt there are videos out there or something.

It's popular and we'll recommended so will probably work well for you. Cost effective on shipping if you were planning on getting the molds too.
