I’ve recently switched to shooting SK Standard from Eley Sport in my biathlon rifle (Anschutz 1827F).
Never had any loading issues with the Eley.
Bullet shapes are similar.
Eley bullets were coated with “bees” wax SK “paraffin”.
Could this the issue ?

The wax could be the diff compared to the 'oily' lube on SKs. Is the ramp and chamber super-clean w-no wax remnants?

Standard Plus has been my go to, for my 1907R, my 54MS-R, and my 1927F, as well as Vudoo , CZ and Cooper and Remington rifles. I haven't had any feeding issues with any of my rifles.

I don't have experience with the 1827F, so cannot comment specifically.

I shoot alot of the SK Biathlon Sport (blue box) in my Anschutz 1907 single shot, and CZ repeaters. All of my rimfires seem to love the SK Biathlon Sport. No feeding problems.
It has a waxy lube for the cold weather. I use it summer and winter. It's not just for winter IMO.

The SK Standard Plus has that oily liquid runny lube as was mentioned above. Maybe that's an issue?

Someone buried the lead here. You guys can get SK? Is this hoarded stuff or are the rumours finally true and it's come back to Canada?

I buy Standard Plus by the case, and I bought two cases about five years ago, and a friend sold me a case, so I still have about 7000 rounds left. I also have four bricks or so of Long Range that I bought a few years ago.

I'm down to my last SK+=250; SK Flat Nose=150; SK Magazine=850; SK-RM=0 . I bought a mix of 3K 2-years ago. Plus I shoot other flavours for 'practice'. Now trying Eley Club, Sport, Norma Sub, Fed GM Target; but with the weather I'm not getting out till May. NO indoor ranges within 200 miles.

North Sylva has some SK in stock, including 420121, 420137, and 420148.

Supply chain problems still persist. I bought a case from Korth 2 X seasons ago at $7.80 / box. I anticipated inflation, a box is now $12.00 / box. Korth will receive shipments then email the local clubs. I’m assuming first come first served. They’re really good about this.

I clean my rifle after every session Monday evenings at Canmore Nordic Centre. Rod and clean with G96 then blow out any residual with compressed air. Mags are disassembled and cleaned on a regular basis. If you haven’t noticed mags can become contaminated inside the casing, they’re easy to dis-assemble and re-assemble.

Neither Korth or North Sylva are SK importers.

We have a container that Steven is sorting for distribution to dealers which will soon have SK and Lapua.22.

Regards,

Peter

Thanks Peter :d Does it 'seem' the pricing will be the same as last year ? ie, has your cost gone up significantly?

At my local range, we have a heated shooting house for 50m rimfire, with lights for nighttime up to 9PM, so we shoot alot of rimfire all year long. Years ago my buddies at the range convinced me to buy ammo by the case (5,000 rounds), or half case with a buddy's order. It was good advice, and tides me over for the shortage periods.

I don't call it "hoarded stuff". I call it "strategic investment in supply management". :)

( ..... and yes, when the case arrives, we pray that this lot is going to be a good one, and not the reject case lot from the testing facility that no competitor bought and that was shipped to Canada for disposal :) )

it might not be the feedramp, it could be a very slight imperfection on the boltface or the edge of the extractor catching the rim of the cartridge. have you tried other brands?
