For anyone in the Camrose area , the Camrose Shooting Sports Association, is running a youth program for 12-18 year olds, interested in skeet. The program will start June 4 at 11am, and will run for all four Sundays in June at 11am. The cost will be $80 for Camrose Shooting Sports Association Members, and $100 for non members, and will include shotshells and clay targets for the four days, as well as a 20 gauge shotgun to use for the four days. To date, we don't have enough youths signed up to run the program, and if we don't have enough youths confirmed by the end of the week, the program will be cancelled. You can obtain the contact information on the Camrose Shooting Sports Association site.

This is the last chance to sign up a youth for the program, unless a few more youths sign up by tomorrow, the program will be cancelled, due to the lack of participants.

That would be too bad.

If I may suggest a suggestion.

Maybe the advertising was wrong?

Lots of parents do not involve their children in shooting sports if they did our ranks would grow tenfold!
My suggestion to you the club whoever it maybe is make up some posters takes them to the hockey rinks churches community center whatever at least the parents there are doing activity’s with their kids.
Truly amazes me the lack of effort on parents parts to involve kids.

We originally sent out emails to our members and posted it on our site, as we wanted our members to have the first chance at this. However, response was slow so we started using Facebook and forums to spread the word. The bottom line is that if even our own members aren't interested in involving their youths, I didn't expect much interest from the general public. It's a sad situation, but the reality is that most of today's youths would rather play video games, than actually get out and shoot real firearms.

That is an incredible deal.

I just paid $277 for and hour and a half lesson for my grandson. It was a terrific experience - productive training and well worth the money, but 4 days for $100? WOW!!!!

Rob!

As mentioned the blame is all on the parents likely the hundreds of people actively shooting clay sports in this province have managed to breed.

With the ever popular name drop of Floyd Nattrass the one thing he sure did was promote. There was a number of young shooters around that walked into that hockey arena and phoned him up for coaching. He had posters all over the place.
Best of luck maybe next year.
