On the video in slow mo you can see the brass deflector bouncing the shelf casing back toward the ejection port. One round actually bounces straight forward and the neck hits the front edge of the ejection port and bounces away. The stoppage is a repeat with the casing bouncing in and stove piping. Still in test phase...

Now that there are nr stripped receivers I think it's gonna be tough for these odd designs to break into the market especially at the previous nr prices

Do any of the non restricted stripper receivers you speak of have an FRT or an actual date they will be available?
When we get some NR receiver set options you're 100% right that other new rifles will have a hard time selling but we may still be a couple years away from seeing them on the market. I would definitely buy a NR upper/lower long before any new complete rifle but it's always good to have options since not everyone wants to or is capable of building a rifle from parts.

Other than potentially being a NR in Canada, I don't see this has much potential in the US market. This is straight out a repackaged AR18 with a detachable barrel. Interesting hobby gun but it will need way more redesign and development to go with the big boys.

Everything it can do in short stroke push rod, the SIG MCX can do much better and the barrel kits are available. The only reason these days in the US commercial market to have user changeable barrel is to shoot 300 blk. If you come out with a user changeable barrel system, you pretty much need to have 300 blackout lined up right the way. Otherwise it is all for naught.

On a second thought, it may actually have some appeal if they design this from the ground up to shoot 7.62X39 Russian. Most of the rifles are designed around 5.56 and then the designer tries to repurpose it to 7.62 Russian. This is usually problematic. Remember the debacles when 40 S&W first came out 20 years ago and people try to put 40 in 9mm frames.

A light weight AR18 that shoots 7.62X39 Russian will be a much more interesting proposition that can be downsized to 5.56, like the CZ Bren 80X series.
