Just came back from Skills and drills handgun session in Abbotsford Fish and Game club hosted by Slavex. The best training session I had in a long time. Highly professional yet fun, action packed, lots of personal attention for a nominal charge. A must if you are serious about IPSC, IDPA or recreational pistol shooting. Many thanks Slavex!

Thanks for coming out dude. If others are interested please email me rob at Activeshooter dot can with Skills and Drills in the subject line. We normally shoot Friday or Saturday night depending on my work schedule. I send out emails at the beginning of each week to let people know what's what.

Wait, so friday at abby fish and game this week right? Because I am planning on attending one of these.

Der.. Reading, email sent

Der.. Can't get that email to work from my hotmail account, doubting I should be allowed to operate anything more advanced than a pitchfork.

Sorry for missing your reply Doug, we are shooting tonight at 7:30pm. Indoor range at Abbotsford.

What a great night, got to watch shooters make definite improvements over the course of the night and watch them learn how to learn and self diagnose. I shot a record low 50 rounds of 9mm last night. I can't remember when I shot that little, even when teaching I usually hit 150 minimum. But last night was just such a great night with great students, that I didn't feel I needed to demo, re-demo, and demo again, what I wanted them to do, they just did it. Thanks everyone

Next week we will be out on the 19th (the Friday) at 7pm. I'm thinking of getting there a bit early to put some target frames together for the main range (this counts toward your work bee hours if you show up and help)

What an incredibly fun and humbling experience! You guys and girl are great shooters. Thank you Rob for taking your time to help us improve. I'll be coming out as often as my schedule allows and probably bringing a couple friends too. Thanks again!

glad to meet you dude, the more the merrier. Thankfully the MUA heater was fixed, as we are going to need it this winter I think.

we are out again this Friday at 7pm. doing more of the same, putting bullets through paper (well mostly paper)

Slavex, can you elaborate at bit more about your skills and drills? I've heard about and and been meaning to try it out but didn't know all of the details.

Cost? Holster? How many mags? How many rounds? Can targets be bought there?

Thanks man!

Cost is $20 a night, roughly 2.5 hrs shooting time. I provide the instruction and the targets, which can be anything from IPSC targets to my preferred Pistol Training.com targets.
At least 2 mags and 200 rounds of ammo (centerfire unless you are a Jr shooter), however more mags and more ammo are a good idea. Most people have 4 mags minimum, I run 5. 300 rounds of ammo is not outside the realm of use either.
Classes can focus on anything from front sight focus to moving and shooting to malfunction drills.
This Friday will be mostly focused on moving and shooting or moving into position and then shooting.

sorry for the lack of updates, the whole death in the family thing has sort of sidelined things the last 2 weeks.
We will be back this Friday night at 7:30pm. Not sure on the drills we'll be doing yet, but it will involve making guns go bang.
There is a good chance that regular Sunday nights could come back as well due to a change in my shifts at work. I know this worked well for people in the past, so chime in if Sunday nights interest you.
