So after tearing down my Zastava Skorpion down to the last spring and pin to do a proper deep clean, I've come to the conclusion I really would like to have some spares in case a spring goes flying or if I pull a stupid and somehow damage something. Aside from trying to convince an American company to send me a torch cut mess and a bag of parts (which can't actually happen due to export laws, don't get excited. They count as machine gun parts due to being automatic before getting trashed.) are there any companies stocking parts kits? Or are we collectively out of luck?

I'd also like to have the missing bolt stop hook just to have the entire mechanism because I'm a nerd. Not that it will change anything in semi, but they bothered to put everything else in there so might as well.

$400 at Dlask. Get em while you can.

I was looking at that but it seems like strong money to me. Having a new upper would be cool, though.

ORIGINAL Vz.61 Parts Kit

$399.99
Here we have a remnant of the original Cold War. These are actually used surplus Vz.61 machine pistols from The Czech Republic. These are fantastic little parts kits and like all other surplus from Central / Eastern Europe the remaining stock is disappearing fast. Each kit is the same and contains all of the parts seen in the picture.

On sale for a limited time, quantities limited. We brought these in to combine with a project we have on the go, as with the Armorer's parts crates we had, we are selling a limited quantity here first. Once stock reaches a level we will not be selling the rest.

*The receiver has been cut in two places and the front most portion (with serial number) is missing due to export regulations. Because these are surplus there may be differences in colour / grip materials.

* NO INTERNATIONAL SALES

They also have a package with this kit and an "80% receiver". I don't really know what an 80% receiver is but I'm guessing it's one that needs work to be completed. Don't know the legality on once it is completed, nor the work involved if you wanted to finish.

Glad I asked when I did, the post in Dlask's forum advertising these kits was from yesterday. Thanks for the heads up. More than I needed but whatever, I've got a spare everything now. Plus, two more mags! Why the hell not?

My quick and dirty understanding of the 80% receiver laws. I'm not a lawyer and am going off memory of perusing the Firearms Act a while ago so grains of salt. If it's for personal use and you register the receiver when you finish it, legal. If you intend to sell it once finished you need a firearms manufacturing license. Not sure how one has the RCMP inspect and register a home made firearm without it getting confiscated but someone's likely done it.

What exactly is the 20% left to do on the receiver? I'm assuming few people have the machining skills to actually do what needs to be done anyway.

Typically you just have to drill a couple holes to complete them. However after you do, you have to call the cfc

Dlask say they have jigs coming to help finish machine these receivers. Slightly more work than AR 80%ers as a mill is required for some operations. And yes after you sucessfully mill the receiver and it's now capable of receiving parts to complete it as a firearm it needs to be registered! They are more than happy to register your new gun you just built.
