Bad me... picked up a nice SKS M59/66a1 too.
Don't plan to shoot mil-surp since most of the cases aren't reloadable. Want to mix it up with commercial ammo for the brass and cast for fun. Milsurp for cheap fun days at the range but not as much.
I got the RCBS .309 SP bullet on order (7.62-130-SPL) that I plan on using in the M14. In theory it should work nice in an SKS, too. Since it's just a fun gun for me and accuracy don't matter, the 0.002-3" undersized don't matter if it wobbles down the barrel. Hopefully it won't lead too much.
Has anyone tried this bullet? Any other cast bullet suggestions? Lee makes a similar design in 0.312" in both lubed and TL designs.
Will my Varget and/or H4895 loads with Carnuba Red work in this cartridge, too?
