Hi everyone, few weeks ago, while browsing internet for SKS parts, I came across a small device that you put on bayonet lug to hold the cleaning rod in place when the bayonet is removed.

My problem with this...I can't find it anymore. If any of you know what I am talking about or know where to find this, your help would be greatly appreciated. I want to buy one, but can't remember where or how it is called :D

Thanks!!!

You can take the guts out of a piece of paracord and tie it around the lower part of the bayonet lug. (Through the hole the cleaning rod goes through and around)

When you put the bayonet screw back in you can't even see the cord.

Mine is a bit tight getting the rod in and out. But I guess thats better than too loose.

I tried ordering one of those holders too. THey seem to be out of stock everywhere.

edit - Don't tie the guts around the lug. Use the other part.

I checked his site last night and they were listed for $15

SKS Cleaning rod retainer
An excellent way to secure your cleaning rod when the bayonet assembly has been removed. Consists of three pieces, Screws into threaded bayonet mount and provides tension which secures cleaning rod.

sksman has apparently has not restocked rod holder. Received order short two items. One was the rod holder.Did not clarify before charging or shipping.Service......6 out of 10.
