SKS accuracy

In order to pass the inspection, a 4-shot group must be 150 mm or less at 100 m. I.e. 6 MOA or better

3 is a good one, like 5.45 said. Between there to 5" with most being somewhere in between.

Anywhere from 5" to 9" groups with stock iron sights at 100m with combloc ammo.
If you get a set of precision tech sights and do a home trigger job you can bang out consistent 5" to 6" groups easily even with bulk surplus ammo.
I ####ing love the SKS!

Minute of torso - you can count on it to land ~somewhere on a 12"x16" plate at ~150m if you're aiming slightly high on the center. Past this range the drop starts getting real big real quick.

Don't think mine has ever done better than 5 moa.

I remember ganderite doing some load testing years ago and getting like about 1.5 1.7 moa. I recall something like he removed the piston rod and operated it manually. Now for my experiences it is more like 4 to 5 moa with the cheapest surplus I can get my hand on.

The gas system on the SKS, which allows it to extract almost flawlessly is most of the cause for its accuracy issues.

Considering what the accuracy requirements are for the rifle under stressful, field conditions, it's just fine.

The other issue with SKS rifles are mostly due to bore diameter variances. I have a Russian refurb with a bore diameter of .315 in. and a new in grease Chinese SKS with a . 309 bore.

The best shooting SKS I have is a Yugo M59, which has a .310 median bore diameter.

With properly bedded stock, commercial ammo and good trigger, 2-4 MOA
Your average out of the cardboard box sks with surplus ammo, 4-10 MOA

I've got 2 Chinese models, a standard SKS and a D model. Both are around 3-4 MOA with Chinese surplus, and both have great triggers out of the box. All I did was shim the actions nice and firmly into the stocks.

The run-of-the-mill Chinese will easily hit 12x14 plates at 300m with regularity. Acurate enough.

Every shot on a claybird @ 100 yards with the SKS's I sold to "Mike from Canmore".Out of a CZ527 pingpong balls with new Norinco ball.
