Took a few quick photos upon entering the Kremlin today. Red Square is off limits due to the May 9th Victory parade preps but wtf, saw what I could.

This guys sks looks like a 49 or transitional 50 if Im not mistaken, just looking at the bolt carrier. Too bad his hand is covering the gas block

Cool photo. too bad you couldn't speak Russian . he might have let you look at the rifle. I was wondering if it was loaded ?? I guess that was a stupid question he's in Russia not Canada .of course it's loaded . LOL . thanks for the photo and I hope you had an excellent trip.

A lot of Russians, specially the younger ones, speak at least limited English. But he's on guard duty and couldn't talk if he wanted to.

Mag is loaded but BIG NO NO about the round in the chamber.

I'd be willing to take that bet. Probably just a student making minimum wage. And they sure wouldn't want risk the careless waste of military rds., in the event of a mishap.
