SKS ATI Dragunov Stock. Can't take it apart

Hi everyone, I bought an SKS in an ATI Dragunov Stock. I can't get the damn thing open at all. I'm trying to release the trigger with a screwdriver but due to the angle being restricted by the pistol grip, I can't get anything done. Does anyone have experience with this?

try a 6" long punch, a light tap downward on the release of the catch on the trigger guard. It will go. It need a direct hit.

I remember having a stock like that years ago. The pain was real. After a bit I but the wood one back on.
 
Any ideas on reattaching the sight? I understand that you have to put a significant amount of pressure on the leaf to get it in, but this tiny little pit seems to prevent it from going in. Do I need to remove this or am I off base?
