SKS bayo problem

Hello, I have a 1950 Russian refurb that's a blast to shoot. My only complaint is that the bayonet dislodges sometimes when firing. It's a bit of a pain to have this happen, looks goofy as well. Any thoughts?

Id say look for another bayonet spring...that should solve your problem...

try taking it off? It's staked in there securely though, you might need an impact wrench / driver to break the tension. - or just secure it there with a jubilee clip . . .

Here is a pic of the assembly. It looks like the ears are straight cut with the bayonet matching. There's quite a bit of tension on the spring, I'm still stumped.

If it's not a big deal to you,maybe think about taking the bayonet off completely. Save some weight on the front end of the rifle.????

SKS's just don't look right without the bayo on them.

The bayonet on my SKS has a different style mounting bracket than yours does, on mine, the top grouve is at angle upwards, when the bayonet is locked back. I haven't had any problems with the bayonet, and it locks securely. You've taken it all apart and it all looks good? Then it's definately the grouves. Do you have a spike or spade bayonet?

I tried to post some pics orginally, but no luck. It's nothing special, just the spade bayonet, and it's either grinded or manufactured with a slight angle in the grouves so it locks better with the bayonet, if you'd explain the pixture process I'll get some up
