Does the bayonet on the sks affect the accuracy like it does with the M44?

I had it at the range and shot 20 rounds with it on and 20 with it off at 100 yards (czech surplus) and I didn't see a difference. But with my M44 I shoot the same thing and with the bayonet off it shoots around 5 inches to the right. This is all with open iron sights so I don't want to rule out unstable grip or anything like that.

I think It will make a difference only if you do rapid fire, because barrel will jump up more w/o the byonet... But if you have few seconds betwen the shots, you'll be OK... :)

perhaps the difference in your results is due to the difference in the position of the bayonet. on my moisin carbine the bayo is on the right side, but many sks bayonets are on the bottom.
i think with the bayonet extended or attached to any gun it should make some difference to the POI, but the best accuracy will always be obtained when you stick the bayonet into the target.

this should pretty much give you one hole groups every time!!!!

This is my feeling on the matter, generally the use of the bayonet brings both accuracy and lethality close to 100%, unfortunately the lack of distance between yourself and the recipient can cause other issues - especially if using the bayonet while bear hunting. :D
