I noticed the last time i was out to the range my buddy was using a bipod for his .30-06 and it worked great for steadying the Rifle so i was just wondering what would be a good Bipod for an SKS Rifle. I apologize if this has been covered before.
thanks

of course, nc star makes a cheapy you can get for around $20.
It mounts in the bayonet hole.
Note that the shoulder screw they provided stripped out the first time I installed it.

yep.
If you get one, you will notice that you get what you pay for feeling. Like, the legs kind of lock in place, but it could be more secure.
You know that some people use the sks bayonet as a monopod and that seems to work ok too.
Since my screw is pretty stripped, I don't know if I could put it on if I wanted to. I will be at More Gun Supply this summer, so expect they'll replace the shot screw.

Do you have to remove the Bayonet?

You can also get a barrel clamp on picatinny rail and attach any bipod you want.

Alternatively you can get a small sandbag or front shooters rest bag pretty cheap and can use it for any rifle

I think i will go with the ones that clamp onto the Barrel..i don't like the idea of taking off the Bayonet as i want to keep it all original.

I have used a bi pod for years on multiple rifles including SKS that clamp onto the sling swivel studs. You will have to drill the stock to put the sling swivel stud in but that is a minimal alteration to the original configuration. Those that clamp on to the barrel will alter the harmonics and that just feels wrong. I know before you all say it, it is an SKS not a sniper rifle but messing with the harmonics just adds one more variable to the shooting equation.

you don't want to clamp a bipod or anything else to your barrel. It will affect the harmonics probably in a negative way and it just screams tacticrap I mean tacticool yeah thats it.

I was looking into to this, seems maybe the way to go as i don't want to do any major changes to the Rifle...Thanks.

We are running a CGN special on these, click HERE.They are on the bottom of the page.

Sorry but I lmfao when I read about the harmonics being ruined by drilling and mounting a bipod... hell, you could nail 2x4's to th stock and not disturb harmonics.... cause there are none.:p
