SKS Bolt Assembly

I banged out the pin on my sks bolt cleaned it up and reassembled it.

Now that it has been assembled when i tilt the bolt back the firing pin slides out an inch or a touch more. It does not actually fall out, just come out an inch or so then stops.

Is this normal or did i screw up the reassmbly? Is there any particular orientation to reinserting it when you bang the pin back in? I guess i did not look closly enough when I took it apart and I want to make sure its correct.

I might be totaly misunderstanding what you are describing, but is it possible you put the firing pin in upside down?

I know this can be done with some SKS's.

CHINESE TYPE 2: This pin is EXTREMELY easy to install upside down. This will jam the pin forward, causing a potentially deadly slamfire.

I believe you are correct. I did not have that bump facing upwards so the pin was sliding out. It looks like a Chinese pin type 1 (yugo sks). I think i have it correctly installed now.
