sks bolt hold back

stripped down the sks i just bought for a good cleaning and was also looking to see if these critters have a bolt hold back... either they don't or i'm missing something?

they don't, as far as I know... never seen one that did....

I suppose you mean an SKS-D. Unfortunately, they aren't equipped with a bolt hold back.

figured... is there any way to load the gun with stripper clips? i've seen pics of some sks type guns being loaded from the top..

Naw, not with the SKS-D. Only the regular SKS has the bolt hold back and provision for stripper clips. There is a slot cut in the top of the bolt where the stripper clip fits that is not present on the SKS-D.

It would be nice though...

Take your AK mag from your SKS D, and use one of these with the stripper clips...

Ahh, the regular sks has bolt hold back.. learn something new everyday.. and what the hell is that divice?? to load a ak mag with 7.62x39 on stripper clips???

yup, also known as mag charger.

My M59 has a bolt hold open, but the m59/66's do not.
Luckily for you, you can stripper clip yours but I cant with mine .
