the fabric deflector on my kwik rail is just not cutting it. I broke one cheap chinese scope and scratched of a bit of finish from one ring.

a picatinny deflector seems really hard to find .

What are you guys using ?

Do what the Russians do.

Forget all the cheap "deflector" crap. take a file to the side of the receiver and straighten the angle - that will change the ejection angle downwards.

I have a Taktika Tula (Тактика Тула) Russian shell deflector on my sks. It sits on the side of the receiver, held in place by a strong magnet. I was surprised how strong the magnet they used is - you can literally hold the rifle up by it.

I got it last summer and it works well even with steel case ammo. 1 FTE out of ~200 rounds; casing stuck to receiver on last shot. Probably wouldn't work with steel case ammo on an sks that is under-gassed in any way.
