If you sight in for 25 yards you should hit about 3-4 inches high at 100 and bang on at 200. If you sight in for 100, which I wouldn't do, you'll be about 6 inches low at 200 and 25 at 300

just out of curiosity, why wouldnt you sight in at 100m, what do you prefer?

Not to speak for Rocket Surgery, but from my personal experience, if you shoot irons and sight in at 25yds, then you still can see exactly what you will hit at both 100 and 200 yds.

The front post covers an 18" wide sheet of paper at 200 yards, it's nice to have a POA that's at least on the target. 3-4" low of center @ 100 and split the bull @ 200.

If you split the bull at 100 then you don't leave much to aim at, at 200yds.

Edit: Emphasis on iron sights with this post. For the OP, I wouldn't worry about where you sight in with a red dot. You should have good visibillity regardless, if you can get anything mounted on an SKS to actually hold zero that is... (couldn't resist  )

Probably where you shoot is a big factor. Our range goes to 300m, but past 100m the terrain gets a bit rougher and climbs. So I prefer 100m. Next time out I'm going to try ringing the 300m gong consistently with my SKS.

I've got a bullet drop compensator on my SKS's scope, so I'm also curious to see if it works at all.
