Anyone tried this before. I miked some SKS bullets and found that they are .310 and I know that most .303 are .311. I should slug my .303 and see exactly what it is. This question has probalby been asked her before but I searched and couldn't find the answer. The rate of twist might not be able to handle the lighter bullet but for plinking and a cheap source of bullets and powder it would provide if it can be done.

Myself and a couple other members have scavenged the powder and bullets from 7.62x39 and loaded it directly into .303. Its fast, cause you don't have to measure powder, and cheap. I found it makes a superb plinking load with acceptable accuracy out of my SMLE. You;re right the 7.62x39 bullets are .310, and SMLE's are .311. They shoot well out of mine; results may vary!:D Try it out, you have nothing to lose!
