Okay so I found this anw want to know if it is legal here in canada. (other than the fact they don't ship to canada.
The length still gives it a non restricted status, but are we allowed to have SKS Bullpups here in confiscanada????

Length is irrelevant.
Bullpup stocks are specifically prohibited.
Usually this topic surfaces every week or so. This has been one of the longest stretches without the question being asked.
Just checked. Most recently mentionned on 27 November. Three weeks.

Bullpup firearms are not necessarily prohibited. Some are, some are restricted, some non-restricted. For various reasons.
If the ergonomic portions of a bullpup firearm (what would be the "stock") are arranged in such a manner that the barrelled action is inoperative with this assembly removed, there is no prohibited stock.
If the stock is an add-on, then its prohibited.
The SKS, 10/22 conversion kits are in this category.

Thank you, Jeeses i didnt know aking a simple question could make people so angry.
I thought this was a judgement free forum but I guess there are still a couple a#@ holes out there.

No anger, just exasperation. My exclamation was directed at the moderators of this site, not you in particular. As stated, this subject comes up almost every week and I would think it would be a sticky by now....Hell they have one on how to open a box of ammo, why not a popular subject like this one?

I didn't resort to calling you a lazy little turd for not searching out the information yourself, I actually did answer your question and without calling you names, a**hole.

Edit: just typing your link (ww w.sgworks.com/store) into the search engine comes back with 14 threads saying what you want is prohibited.

First off, welcome to CGN.

Be aware that sometimes questions that are asked in an aggressive manner will be met with equally aggressive responses and there is definitely an expectation that the question asker would have at least searched for information on the subject before asking.

I hope you enjoy your time on CGN!

Merry Christmas

It is astounding that so many people don't take the time to read the Criminal Code and the firearms Act when they embark on firearms ownership.

it is not a long read.. really

why would you rely of hearsay vs going to the source?

Wow great start. I would agree with everyone telling you to search. When i first got here I red up all I could and only then when I couldn't find an answer I asked. It get's frustrating browsing through 100's of threads with the same title and same answers over and over again, just bcs someone thinks their time spent searching is worth more everyone elses spent answering the same question over and over again. Do you understand the other posters frustration now ? And he was polite by my standards, providing links and all.

Welcome to CGN

don't take it too hard, you see this question comes up every month or two and it gets trying as you have probably figured out that banning such a device is ......dumb you could likely ban honda civics and better control crime

Since no one has posted the text of the law, here it is:

PART 4

PROHIBITED DEVICES

Former Prohibited Weapons Order, No. 9

2. Any rifle, shotgun or carbine stock of the type known as the “bull-pup” design, being a stock that, when combined with a firearm, reduces the overall length of the firearm such that a substantial part of the reloading action or the magazine-well is located behind the trigger of the firearm when it is held in the normal firing position.

From here: http://laws.justice.gc.ca/eng/SOR-98-462/FullText.html

The RFB and Tavor are built such that there is no separate stock. The body of the action forms the stock, so that when the rifle is stripped down it cannot be fired.

Op...don't let this experience deter you from asking questions.....To those of you who know everything that there is to know about....well everything I guess:p,if certain questions aggravate you so, why do you respond? kinda leans to the masochist me thinks:D

there is nothing wrong with questions.

Ignorance is cured with questions, but it can also be cured with study.

I worry about people who accept hearsay as legal opinion

THANK YOU mmattockx

That was what I wanted when I originally asked for information to back up what the first and second poster and so on were saying.
