SKS butt pad

Do you guys recommend the 1 inch or the 2 inch UTG butt pads?

Or if you can recommend other companies that make butt pads that work great on our SKS's.

I'm over 6 foot tall and looking for something to increase the LOP.
 
I had 3 options.
My 1st choice: Replacing Stock and went with timber smith.
2nd option was: easy to install slip on recoil pad.
3rd option: screw on type butt pad, but didn’t go for it.
 
I was just suggesting that this could be done in the workshop to determine the best fit before purchasing. I was NOT suggesting that this should be a solution that is taken to the range and used while shooting.
 
I put a 2" one on mine. Feels great. I am 6'

No SKS was damaged. The pad was made for the SKS. It would be easy to switch back to original.

I got it for $7.00 on ebay. I just checked and they don't list them anymore.
 
I have the 2" as well. Looks ugly and I feel kind of guilty slapping it on, but it's a definite improvement over the standard stock length.
 
I find mine to be a tad long when wearing a winter jacket, or rather a surplus M65 Field Jacket with a hoodie as the liner, since that is my winter work jacket(summer too without the hoodie :d ) It is perfectly usable that way but for me just a little long. I'm between 6' and 6'1".

With a t shirt or long sleeve shirt it's perfect. I haven't fastened it to the rifle with the buttplate screws as of yet but probably will once i drill a hole for the cleaning kit.

I should mention that I put it on over the buttplate.

I guess it depends on how much LOP increase you want. You definitely don't need a butt pad for reducing recoil, so your decision should be based compleatly on your desired LOP. Consider a Tacticool stock with adjustable LOP
