Looking to add a recoil pad to my sks to change LOP, just wondering on what one people recommend 1 inch?? 2 inch?? and what place best to buy from.

Thickness will depend on what you want for LOP. I needed just the inch and it works fine. Any gun store will sell them.

I use a slip-on Limbsaver on mine for +1" and it feels ok with that. It is still pretty short, though. Hical used to sell +1" and +2" pads, but are sold out at the moment.

depends on you on how comfy you are , try 1 " and if that doesnt feel right then move up to 2" .

its kinda funny , with my VZ58 SMG i prefer not to use any simply bcos the pads doesnt look right , its just my personal preference .

The slip on sleeve is long enough that you might be able to get away with a spacer insidethe sleeve for a little more LOP. I like the slip on as it requires no tools to put on and remove and can easily be moved from rifle to rifle.

I took the steel butt plate to the gun store and just compared limb saver recoil pads till i found one close. Can't remember the part number, just test fit till you are happy.

SKS has short LOP because the Russians wear lots of clothing for much of the year. I used a recoil pad on an sks, but once the weather cooled off, I removed it because it was too much length with a heavier jacket. Now i have too many rifles and don't bother with extra padding and just got used to shooting them the way they are.
