Need a little help from you Red Rifle pros!

I just got back from my first day out with my newest SKS... and I can't remember ever having so much fun with one... my T97 was feeling a bit neglected, let's put it that way :)

However I do need a shell deflector as the casings are chewing up the scope. I am wondering what the best one to get would be?

This is what I will have to attach the casing deflector to... I hope that the rear sight being missing is not an issue

The rifle also has some sort of shrink wrapped rubberized plastic (can't find a seam) where the front sight used to be. I am wondering what options are out there for a muzzle breaks and what the best option would be?

This rifle was a project rifle for two guy before it got to me yesterday... I am excited to finish it and cherish it forever more... man was today a good day!!! :D

Thanks so much for any help!!

You don't need a defector. Cut the rear corner of the ejection port back and square it up. I used a Dremel tool and a file. Brass now ejects low to 2:00 o'clcok.

Thank you so much for the post.

I don't have a Dremel and wouldn't want to mess anything up... I found a deflector at westrifle for $8.00 so I will go that route if it is gonna work for me.

Cheers! and thanks again :)

I mounted a deflecter on my, cheap from Ebay works great. I also bought a bolt on muzzle brake off of Ebay also cheap and works great. You don't need to spend much money to make it work better

Can you post a link of the brake you bought? I'm looking for another that isn't a pin on.
