Gents asking for a friend what are the options for aluminium SKS chassis and ideas for Stanag magazines?

My two SKS

The tacticool one is the no longer in production SKS-15 Scorpio from Kodiak Defence. It is built around a Russian SKS with some modifications to the receiver. It takes XCR-L pistol magazines, is fun to shoot, is heavy, and is a pain in the butt to take down for cleaning.

Matador used to make the Sabertooth as well...don’t think they do anymore but I remember seeing a few of them at the range a couple of years ago...

Norinco did a small, experimental run of SKS rifles, chambered for the 5.56 Nato round. That was way back, before the US embargoed Chinese manufactured firearms.

If memory serves, it looked very much like the Kodiak Defense in design but looked a bit more like an AK, because of the extended curved magazine, which was the same they used for their 5.56 AK47 variant and the shape of the pistol grip/butt stock.

Supposedly it was going to be marketed exclusively in North America.

Of course, when the US market was closed to them, production in viable quantities never occurred.

It can't be that difficult. New barrel, proper size gas port for bolt function. Different bolt face. To bad Canada is such a small market. Kits could likely be made very economically and change over would be reasonably simple. Likely the threaded type receivers would need to be used.
