how do you clean the gas piston holder, the part that goes into the barrel? Just wondering if rust can collect and clog in that hard spot.

I use the nylon brush from the SKS tool kit. And Q tips with EDs RED. Only the barrel is chromed on the chinese and yes I guess it would rust if not cleaned
 
man...i failed to clean the gas piston after using corrosive once, by failed i mean i waited a day, bad idea, was rusted shut already....pain in the butt.
 
What ever you do don't wait to long to clean it after a session or as platnumbob said it will be rusted shut. I use a .410 swab in the fat end and 30 cal swab in the narrow end soaked in solvent. Then dry with clean patches and oil heavily.

Gas pistons are supposed to be dry are they not?
