Now that I have my SKS Sporter set up the way I want it the next step is the addition of a 5/75 rd drum. My question is are there any mods I need to do to the mag well of the stock (a Sporter thumbhole but the magwell dimensions are the same a standard "D" stock) in order to make it fit properly? I seem to recall seeing this info somewhere but I didn't have much luck with a search. Thanks!

If you have an SKS D model any AK47 magazines will work with this rifle.
AKA Plug and play ;)

IIRC. Both sides of the stock at the mag well
will have to have relief cuts to allow for drum radius.
I would consider doing this to a replacement stock
and retain the original in its current form.

You have to make a clearance cut on both sides to clear the drum. You can see where I had to make a cut on this TAPCO stock. On the factory stock you'll need to cut that metal liner too.

I'm not being a smart azz but why have a drum when its pinned for 5 rounds,What fun or what purpose does it servre. To look Cool?

Thanks for the replies, very helpful. Kingarmory that looks awesome, love the look of a drum. I won't butcher the factory thumbhole stock, think I'll get a standard "D" stock and machine it out accordingly. The LCF would be great. Thanks again!
