SKS-D date of manufacture?

There is a ton of info on normal SKS's but I am finding it hard to find info on SKS-D's date of production.

Ive found some info about some SKS-M's in the states having a date before the serial number but my D doesn't have that.

serial numbers:

side of gun: 66684
bolt carrier top: 66684
Bolt carrier side: 02-717
Bolt: 66684

Any idea when it was made??? I figured it couldn't be as simple as saying 1984 lol.
 
On the left side of the receiver is
there a armory/factory stamp /26\ and
is that the complete serial number?
 
AFAIK the /26\ were Chinese military manufacture... The SKS-D was a commercial product only. That's why you're not finding a lot of info about it.

Contact Norinco... Maybe be they have a great customer support department ;)
 
I think the /26\ guns were the 60's normal Sks from China weren't they?

Up front (left side) on the receiver by itself is the 66684 and further near the back it says "SKS 7.62 x 39 made in China"

There seems to be a lot of info but not much specifically. Quite a few D and M made but not a ton consistently similar.
