Does anyone know if the gas tube and barrel from a normal Chinese SKS will fit an SKS type D?

Yes. Maybe. Chinese SKS barrels are either threaded or pinned. Threaded barrels either have a long or short barrel lug.

Depends one what your SKS-D has. They came with threaded and pinned barrels depending on version.
