Today, a Norinco SKS-D Rifle sold at Sw*tzers Auction for $2300.+ tax.
($2000.+ 15% BP)

Wow!
That was a A+++ example of a Beta Arms.

I sold an SKS D for $2100 a few months ago, so I'm really not surprised. I felt a little bit awful asking so much for a simple SKS D but new family and all that.

My last Garand I paid $325 for. Prices on things tend to go up over time, and that accelerates rapidly when your government is creating fear, uncertainly, doubt and scarcity.

So - is that the reason for the crazy prices? People want them now before they are banned? Or is it because there really is nothing else available right now to have fun with?

Yesterday at Edmonton Gun Show there was an SKS-D listed at $2300 or something like that. I also saw several Garands listed at over $3000.

Havent been to an auction in many moons. Last one just left a bad taste, a gentleman bid on so much crap and was so smug. Literally bid everything over retail, including a sig mosquito. Cheered he had “won”

don't know much about sks prices but at the last few switzers win 94's that were 600-1000$ guns sold for 2,500-4500 $ many people out there with really more money than brains

Whatever people are willing to pay defines the market.
Evidently there were several people interested in that gun so much they'd part with 2k+ for it.
I've closely watched the SKS D market recently, and the going price is genuinely ~2k now.
What they sold for years ago, even months ago is almost irrelevant.
If multiple people want one, have the money, and are willing to spend it... these are the auction results we see.
I wouldn't be surprised to see the SKS D selling for an average of $2500. in 6 months... if they're still available.
