I would try and find it asap I am sure you don't want to wait till summer and find a nice ball of rust. get some salt get a magnet just find it fast.

SKS-D trigger group is nearly impossible to replace , i know cos i been looking for one, i'll be force to convert a reg trigger welded to a AK mag catch .

in the mean time , i borrow the trigger group from another "D" that i own.

Yeah your going to want to find it ASAP. Dont wait till spring because it will be rusted to ####. Also, as Curtton said, they are nearly impossible to replace. Maybe take a shovel and poke around in the snow until you hit it. A metal detector isnt a bad idea either.

I'd kick his ass and never take him shooting again.

But yeah. Metal detector. It shouldn't be hard to find. It's not exactly small.

good luck finding another, they are impossible to find. get a metal detector out there pronto.

if you dont have a metal detector, maybe try posting a help ad at canadianmetaldetecting.com. they are friendly people and im sure they will have members in your area.

that or drive your friend out with a shovel and a sock full of dimes. make him find it.

Ummmmmm look outside buddy, its winter. I go to the range in the winter as well.

I think he meant something more along the lines of "Why didn't you wait until you got home to take it apart?". It would have to be a special occasion for me to take one of my guns apart in the snow. It's not that I'm not careful. It's just the reason of why?

i think the magnet or metal detector is probably your best bet. That sucks, good luck finding it.....but if you don't I will buy the rifle off of you!!!
