SKS-D value rating????

How would a guy go about figuring out what to pay for & SKS-D, I want one but dont know about the pricing of them. Thanks in advance.

in excellent cond , with a 30 rd mag ... approx $400

btw, make sure it comes with a cleaning kit in the butt . right calum?

Last year I saw a couple of them in the Edmonton area Bargain Finder for $300 with a couple of 5-shot mags(Even at that time it seemed a bit low). Now they are a bit more expensive at $400. One place around here wants $500 for a used D.

I resisted buying it because that is insane for a stock D.

As luck would have it I picked up a D with the Fiberforce Dragunov stock, B-Square scope mount, Tasco red dot and a bipod for $550. The guy who built it test-fired it and stored it. I am so glad I waited.

I even timed it so my 30/5 mags from BC came on the same day as the rifle. :) The mags work like a dream.

Sounds good gents, I will keep my eyes open, Thanks Currton, I will most likely use some of your DIY ideas to conform this SKS-D, when I get one!!! into a Simonov,Kalashnikov or Dragunov type clone.

Never give up. Try putting a wanted ad in the EE. I didn't even find mine in an auction paper or website. It was on a small private range's website in their club's classifieds.

Also, some Canadian dealers are stating that they can no longer get SKS stocks from the USA. It might be a good idea to grab a couple stocks from our Canadian dealers while they still have them. Alot of the dealers are sold out of the ATI and Tapco stocks and if the above is true then you had better hope you find a D for sale that already has a nice stock on it.

Thanks Currton, I did see that one. very very nice only very overpriced to the best of my knowledge. maybe 800$ or close to that but not 1300$ thats too much, theres nicer custom work that goes out the door for less, it's just a waiting game now, but I guess like I've said before something is only worth as much as YOU want to pay for it. Thanks guys.

Had my SKS-D out yesterday evening with some friends. We were shooting tracer at propane bottles, it was great fun.

I was foolish enough to tell my buddies about them being $175 at P&D a few years ago and when I went to get one myself they said the last one they had in their basement had a deposit on it.

!!!

Guess who had the deposit on it.

It took him 3 years to buy it lol and don't think I didn't try to buy it after he didn't pick it up after 2 years. :slap:
