Hello again. I was just wondering if sks-d are available in Canada . I believe only Chinese made the d , and they take a k mags. Does anyone have one? Are they any better than a regular sks? What is going rate for one in comparison to the $200-$300 we pay for a regular one. Thoughts and opinions on sks-d please, I'm curious .

Not made anymore, or at least not imported if they are. The EE is your best bet to grab one. Depending on accessories they seem to go around 500-800. I've seen a few posted higher, but they don't move as quick.

Kodiac Defense is modifying sks rifles to accept a ak47 mag. Haven't seen one in person or read much about them yet.

My experience with an SKS-D is they were made to be sold. Worse fit, finish and woodworking than the least well-made Chinese SKS. Overpriced only because of the AK mag feature.

I've got a D as well. I'd agree with the attention to detail lacking in some of the wood work fit and finish, but the rest is top notch on mine. For me the AK mag feature is worth the premium they go for these days. They are a fantastic rifle and never have a problem.

The KD versions look cool. They seem to go for very similar prices to the original D. I might get one if the price is right just to have another for my kids as the D's are rare and rarely come up for sale. One benefit I see is that the KD will most likely still have the provision to use strip clips, while the D does not.

I've got one more crate of Czech all on strippers that I'd like to make use of. Lever Arms sells Russian SKS bolt carriers. I'll get one next time I'm In the area and see if it'll fit in the Chinese D. If yes then problem solved.

The bolt carrier will fit, but the stripper guide is next to useless without the bolt hold open that the SKS-D also lacks.

I have an SKS-D I had to make my own stock from a regular sks, until I was able to find an actual SKS-D stock which I did. I never fire it and it just collects dust, I will never sell it. Part of the family haha.

Note, there are 3 different SKS-D designs that were sold in Canada. Blade bayo with standard sks mag release, a spike bayo with AK type mag release, and a bayo delete version with AK style mag release.

There are several other SKS-D type SKS that take SKS mags that went to the US market but wandered north to Canada. Scarcity depends on which one you have. While SKS-D is the typical term to describe them all, many habe their own specific model names.

There is no bho in Kd so unfortunately stripper clips use is possible but far from convenient
Otherwise Kd is a nice version for 580 plastic 490 wood
U have to take 300 rounds per some imi mags to work, so don't buy more than one Mag, buy Croatian metal mags fun on irunguns

even at 750 for the rifle its nutz...lol...

I love my SKS-D dont get me wrong but I would never pay more than 300$ for one...lol...

5 ak47 mags is around 160 Canadian with tax and shipping from irunguns. It can be just about 120$ with tax shipping for plastic pmags from questar
paying 700 for 15 ak47 mags is too much

$700 is not for the mags, it's for the rifle.

5 mags for $160 (your figures) so 15 mags is $480. Minus $1200 on consignment = $720 for the rifle.
