SKS-D's Used, What are they worth?

I think the D is a piece of ####. It doesnt lock open, the mags dont fit well. The regular model is cheaper and at least in my experience more reliable..less chance of slam fires.. In my experience with strippers its faster to load the regular then get the mags in on a D. YMMV

The bolt lock feature would be nice but I think it's a little overrated. Also, it might be faster to load with stripper clips but that's when you're comparing to 5 round mags. If loading speed becomes an issue, I assume you are in a situation where you could use 30 round mags without giving a crap if it's legal or not.

Besides, I don't really know why everyone has such a hard time poping those D mags in and out. It's really not that complicated.

Having owned both types of SKS's, I prefer the D model.

I bought an SKS-D at a gunshow for $300. It came with 5 round mag, 5/20 mag, leapers scope mount and norinco scope. I cleaned it shoot it but I wasn't happy so I sold it for $250 less scope and mount and bought a Yugo. The quality between the two rifles is amazing. I'm much happier with my Yugo

CZ52- My CZ858 has a problem with the fire control group. When I pull the trigger, it won't drop the sear enough to release the striker. I'm waiting for my parts kit to come in from wolverine.

I had the opportunity to load a regular cap SKS and an AK. I think the difference in loading times would be negligible even if the SKS had a 30 rounder. Plus you wouldnt have to reload the AK mags later(cause you'd prob be zombie food by then :))

Besides, it looks just as cool...

There is a bayo available for the D. The mechanism is different on the handle/spring part allowing use of the spring loaded bayo lug.Mine has no groove for the bayo though, just like 45's. Is the mag on Ollies the duckbill variety? How's the feeding?
