I'm having trouble with an sks recently purchased, about every 15-20 round I'm finding it FTF , it picks up the next round but instead of putting it in the chamber it slams it straight forward just below it. And I end up having to pull bolt back and push down on rear of bullet to get the front to come up enough to feed into chamber. Anyone else have this issue? And how to resolve it ? Entire sks is stock including magazine, I'm shooting surplus Chinese ammo and Czech ammo. Also I ensured magazine is properly seating. TIA

This is often an issue where the pinning method causes the follower to jam. If it has a little leg welded to the follower, you should ensure that the follower swivels freely. If that is not happening, you might also check that the feed lips are aligned to the feed path machined into the receiver. This recent batch of Molot exports uses mismatched magazines

One of my SKS behaves almost exactly as you mention. Because it only FTF once every 15 or 20 rounds, it makes it really hard to say what the problem is.
I've tried a few things and now I just live with it. My best SKS never fails!

I also failed to mention it only jams on the right side.
